Growing out your roots the best way....you can look great doing so.......

Blog by Helen Dale and Donna Ribot Sometimes people decide to go natural whether it is gray or whatever color you have. There are a few ways to help do this. No one wants to walk around with a very noticeable contrast . You can’t pretend it’s ombre there is a difference. First there is hi/low lights where we can put darker low lights in the root area and lighter on the rest or vice versa. To help blend while you grow it out reducing the amount needed over time. Balayage is a great way to help blend as this has much less color on the root area and just melts blends in the rest. Balayage is a more natural look over traditional hi lighting . Ombre works as a color melt if you are growing out dark roots and lighter ends. We can subtly blend / melt the color through . Semi permanent....this is a color that blends which isn’t as solid as normal permanent colors. These wash out over time due to hair condition, sun, shampoo and products used. Semi permanent colors can only go same shade or darker never lighter. Most being conditioner based which is good for the hair. My name is Donna, l am a member of the Cavallo team of master stylists. I grew my hair out to be a natural gray. I use to color it dark but over the years your skin changes. Lighter shades suit you better. Plus the maintenance to cover my gray roots dark got too time consuming. It was time to break free. I bleached all around my hair line near as close to white as l could over time. I used hi lights and a color lightener to camouflage. Styled it in a way the roots didn’t show to much growing out. Keeping it cut frequently to remove the older color. Growing out your color doesn’t mean you can never color it anymore. It just means you have a clean canvas to begin again. Now you may add whatever color you desire. Often in a way that doesn’t create roots. My last accent was purple, it could be blonde, warmth or whatever suits you. I no longer worry about my roots, color is changing and fun now. l feel lighter brighter and it suits me and my skin better.
